CONNECTING REGIONS – MOBILITY AND SMART TRANSPORTATION

Transport is an undeniably important factor in European economic development, with a critical strategic role in the integration process. Transport, both as an industry and as a policy area, has played a particular role in post-war European integrative process. European goods and people are more mobile than ever before and transport policy has emerged as one of the few dynamic policy ares, with origins dated back to the Treaty of Rome itself.

Since that time, the environment of transportation has changed dramatically. Forced by the climate - change European transport policy has switched from pure road transport to the more environmental friendly modes rail and waterways. But the European Commission was aware, that the transport problems of Europe can only be solved by using all modes in their best way: the solution is multimodality and intermodality. All of these considerations together are able to move forward to the targed of today: smart transportation.

What are now the benefits of such a policy for the economies, especially for the the small and medium enterprises and for the industry? What are their demands towards transport policy? What are the necessary prerequisites to reach the aim? Is infrastructure development like the EU core network corridors or the development of multimodal terminals and logistic centres are the solution?

INNOVATIONS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR SUSTAINABLE ENERGY

In times of soaring Corporate Emissions of "Green Bonds" the paradigm of CSR will shift from "How Green do you operate" towards "How Green is your next Use of Funds". Green Bonds are Guideline regulated Re-Financing Instruments of operational, fully de-risked projects. But Corporate Issuers will need foresight into New Project Pipelines for Brand Image reasons. Sponsorship for SMEs' SUSTAINABLE ENERGY Innovations' - DEVELOPMENT EXPENDITURES (DEVEX) could therefore become a Qualitative Growth Driver to them, paying back by dynamic market-share increases.
